Today is Lord Dhanwantari Puja – God of Ayurvedic medicine (Ayurveda)
In ancient Hinduism, Dhanvantari is considered an Avatar of Vishnu. and father of medicine and health.

He is referred to as the physician of the Gods. He is also said to be the first physician and surgeon.

He is portrayed as holding the pot containing the nectar of immortality and is said to be the preserve of the world from all diseases.

The Dhanvantari mantra is recited to improve health and wellbeing.
